David was reading his mail the other day. He had something from his bank. Imagine his surprise when I yelled ‘STOP!’ – ‘Don’t throw that away I want it!’ – or words to that effect. He handed the sheet to me with a rather puzzled expression on his face, while I grinned with glee! Inspiration??
This little monkee is SO happy – can you tell? He’s just scored the best bunch of bananas in the jungle! My latest bead comes out of inspiration from two of my favourite beadmakers – Astrid Riedel and Anastasia. Astrid has been making some wonderful two part beads recently -
One of the things I like best about today’s technology is how easy it makes it to find other Artists and what a great source of inspiration the net can be. Take Howie Woo for example. Part six of Finding Your Voice asks us to look at children’s books and their illustrations for inspiration for a bead. It also tells us to pick something we wouldn’t ordinarily do. So this morning I started my websearch. I went to Google images for ‘Children’s Book Illustrations’, between that and a hankering from doing something ‘Coraline’ [...] One thing I have found since I started this wonderful journey in glass, is how generous other Artists are with their inspiration and guidance. I do believe this is how Art can truly flourish. For example, this morning I’ve been doing my usual rounds of blogs and forums and have been particularly inspired by two things. Samma’s [...] |
